This is awfully soon in the discussion for Godwin’s law to come into effect?
Never heard of Godwin’s Law before, but I looked it up on Wikipedia: ‘once such a comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. In addition, it is considered poor form to invoke the law explicitly.’ Especially when the argument hasn’t even got underway?!
I think there may be an exception when invoking Godwin’s law in a ironic way (which I assume it was)?
