I think I\u00a0<i>enjoy<\/i>\u00a0playing video games, but why does this enjoyment contain at its core something that I most certainly do not enjoy?<\/p>\n<p><b>We tend to talk of video games as being\u00a0<i>fun<\/i><\/b>,\u00a0but in\u00a0<i>The Art of Failure<\/i>, I claim that this is\u00a0<b>almost entirely mistaken<\/b>. When we play video games, we frown, grimace, and shout in frustration.\u00a0So<b>\u00a0why do we play video games even though they often make us unhappy<\/b>?<\/p>\n<p>In the book\u00a0I\u00a0<b>compare game failure to\u00a0tragic literature, theater, and cinema<\/b>.
