A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pnas.org\/content\/108\/25\/10081\">new study<\/a> provides more support for the claim that the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/N-back\">n-back task<\/a> will improve fluid intelligence in <em>some<\/em> people, not all.  Are you one of them?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jesperjuul.net\/ludologist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/220px-N-back_Suite_for_iPhone1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1332\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"220px-N-back_Suite_for_iPhone[1]\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jesperjuul.net\/ludologist\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/220px-N-back_Suite_for_iPhone1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a>N-back involves being subjected a series of stimuli (sounds, words, colors), and then pressing a button whenever the new sound\/word\/letter is the same as was shown, say, 3 steps before.<\/p>\n<p>OK, but is it that great a game? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.soakyourhead.com\/\">Here is an online version<\/a>.
